Maureen Beal, CEO
Since taking over as CEO for National Van Lines after her father’s passing in 1993, Maureen Beal has seen the organization, started by her grandfather, enjoy steady double-digit growth. She plays a vital, hands-on role; maintaining that the company should "never be so large as to lose sight of the personal connection we have with our family of agents and drivers, and of course, our customers."
Maureen serves on the Board of Directors of the American Moving and Storage Association and is a Past Director of the Household Goods Carriers Bureau. Having served as Chairman of The American Cancer Society Board of DuPage County, IL, she is an advocate for women’s health issues. Actively involved in community service, Maureen is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Aspire, an organization that works with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Currently, Maureen is a Trustee for Benedictine University, an Associate at Northwestern University and a Board Member for the Humanitarian Project of Carol Stream, IL.
Bob Seeler, Senior Advisor to Maureen Beal
As Maureen Beal's senior advisor, Bob's 30 years of experience in the moving business are a real asset. Over the course of his career, Bob served as president of both National Van Lines and Global Van Lines, and was an executive vice president of Allied Van Lines. After serving two years in the Navy as a communications technician, 3rd class, Bob received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. A Certified Public Accountant, this born-and-bred Chicagoan is an aficionado of Chicago history.
Bob Buti, Vice President, Finance
A veteran at National Van Lines for 30 plus years, Bob Buti started as the data processing manager. Quickly expanding the department, Bob was instrumental in developing Information Technology systems that allowed National Van Lines to more actively manage agent’s accounts as well as shipment information.
When the need arose to elevate the position of Controller to that of Vice President, National Van Lines recognized that Bob’s experience in IT had given him an invaluable overview of the organization, and that he was the best choice. Some of the early challenges were to improve general ledger and accounting systems and automating the functions of the Operations Department. According to CEO, Maureen Beal, "Bob’s dedication to keeping National Van Lines ahead of the technology curve has been a key component of our long-term financial stability."
Some of the innovations implemented under Bob’s leadership include - a document imaging system, user-friendly on-line applications for agents, drivers and corporate personnel, and maintaining state-of-the-art computer and communications systems.
Bob led the management team at National Van Lines in participating in "The Great Game Of Business" an Open-Book Management program which allows all employees to forecast and manage their departments with a share in the outcome. The overwhelming positive support for "The Game" has resulted in cost containment, new revenue generating projects, and front-line efficiencies.
Bob and wife Margo, have three sons Jeff (41), Paul (39) and Rob (34) and two grandsons. The couple resides in Darien and enjoys traveling to their condo in Tampa when time allows.
Len Bambach, Vice President of Operations
Len’s industry roots began with sweeping warehouse floors, with a childhood friend, at Neptune Van Lines in Elk Grove Village. After working his way through the ranks, from warehouseman, helper, packer, to driver, he decided to try his hand in the management side of the business.
His management positions included, customer service, sales, agency, safety, driver training, operations, and he also spent some time working for an agent. Over the years Len also worked at other Midwest-based van lines where he was instrumental in initiating the A.S.O.P. (Agency Safety Officer Program) and a "University" for drivers. These programs were developed to educate both agents and drivers.
Len returned to National Van Lines in February of 2005 as Manager of Dispatch, he was then promoted to Director of Operations. Len has over 30 years of experience and has excelled in numerous management positions in the industry.

Len and his wife, Peg have two daughters, Megan and Ashley and a son, Zach, who also works at National, along with five grandchildren. Len and Peg live in Sugar Grove and enjoy travelling when time allows.
Mark Doyle, Vice President, Sales & Agency Development
Maureen Beal, CEO National Van Lines is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Doyle to the position of Vice President, Sales & Agency Development. No stranger to National Van Lines, Mark was first hired in 1986 and was promoted to this same position in 1994, leaving in 1997 to open his own successful agency.
According to Maureen, "We had been looking for a Vice President of Sales and Agency who would come to us with excellent experience, a good work ethic and an understanding of our culture. Most importantly, we were looking for someone with a great attitude. We feel we have found that person in Mark Doyle."
Mark returns to National with a purpose. With the knowledge of what it takes to succeed as an agent, combined with his corporate experience, Mark is determined to focus on new agent recruitment and play an active part in the growth and development of existing agents. "I’m looking to rebuild the infrastructure of the department by developing a dynamic and consistent approach to recruitment, while at the same time serving as a working liaison promoting sales growth and providing a responsive agent-oriented development staff," states Mark.
A 10-year Certified Moving Consultant, Mark is committed to quality, demonstrated by his service on the Board of Directors for the Chicago and Northern Illinois Better Business Bureau. Mark adds, "The BBB promotes and endorses self-regulation and ethical business practices, and the culture and strategic vision of National Van Lines is a great example of that discipline."
Mark and his wife, Erin have two daughters, Brittany (15) and Melanie (8). The Doyles reside in Naperville and enjoy bike riding, tennis, swimming and family golf outings.
Jorja Coulter, Vice President, Marketing, Quality Assurance & Training
Since joining National in January of 1998, Jorja has initiated a corporate-to-agent communication program -- Team Support, developed an award-winning National Account brochure, and implemented National Van Lines' "whale decal" program expanding their sponsorship of the environmental artist, Wyland.
A 37-year industry veteran, Coulter writes a monthly newsletter for moving and storage sales and customer service representatives, as well as regularly published articles on claims prevention and quality assurance. Previously, Coulter was employed by Allied Van Lines' Professional Sales Association as manager of sales and customer service training. In addition, Jorja has served as a consultant to Fortune 500 firms, conducting sales and customer service seminars for such organizations as AMA, PepsiCo, ITT Sheraton, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Burroughs and Unisys Corporation.
Jorja, a Certified Moving Consultant, is a strong advocate for the American Moving and Storage Association's certification program, promoting continuing education and ethical sales practices in the relocation industry.
Mike Yost, Vice President, Special Commodities
In 1975, as a high school student, Mike Yost took a part-time job at a moving company loading trucks with no idea that it would set the course for his future. Two years later, he went on the road with a driver and was hooked. He left the moving business briefly to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University but returned as a dispatcher for Bekins in 1983. At National Van Lines for the past 16 years, and with 30 years of experience under his belt, Mike serves as vice president of special commodities.
Donna Martin, Western Regional Sales Director
Serving as Regional Sales Director for the Western Region, Donna is a seasoned sales professional with experience in National Account Sales, Sales Management and Administration. The newest member of the sales team, she is highly regarded in the industry. Her talent and dedication had helped her climb the ranks to Regional Vice President of Business Development with another major van line.
Donna uses her expertise to recruit agents in the western region and to help existing agents increase sales. "National has a very good reputation in the marketplace as a first-rate, high quality service provider," she commented. "I am really excited to be here as part of this team!"
Vice President of Marketing, Quality Assurance & Training, Jorja Coulter, expresses her confidence, "Donna is a great asset to the west coast. Her extensive experience in the moving industry, along with her determination and enthusiasm, contributes significant value in the Regional Sales Director role."
Donna is a certified relocation professional and certified moving consultant. Donna has recently relocated back to the Chicago area and is a native Chicagoan. Donna resides in Westmont with her husband.
Dan Sabol, Midwest Regional Sales Director
Dan Sabol Named as Midwest Regional Sales Director
Serving as Midwest Regional Sales Director, Dan is very excited about working with the sales and agency development team. Dan spent over 20 years in the telecommunications industry, working with high-profiles clients like Qwest and Level3 Communications. After identifying a need in Douglas County, Colorado, for a top-quality moving and storage business to service the VIP clientele in the fast growing, affluent Denver suburbs, Dan started his own National Van Lines agency in 2001, quickly becoming one of National’s top booking agents. Dan also was responsible for one of National Van Lines largest National Accounts.
Dan has relocated from Colorado to Riverside, IL, and is looking forward to working with existing agents, and recruiting new agents on the west coast.
Dick Scaffa, Eastern Regional Sales Director
Dick grew up in New York so we have to forgive him for being an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. Dick's 25 years in moving and storage include both agency and corporate positions. He is well versed in sales, sales management, and operations.
Representing Graebel Van Lines in the 1980s, Dick spent time in Connecticut, Chicago, and Philadelphia. In the 1990s, he managed a Mayflower agent location and later moved to Mayflower Corporate as the regional director of the Mid Atlantic Region.
Dick joined National in 1989 as Eastern Regional Manager. His responsibilities include recruiting, agent sales training, third party relocation sales, and agency development. He lives in Medford, New Jersey with his wife and 2 teenage children.
Shelly Zachary, Director of New Agent Training and Development
Shelly Zachary to Focus on New Agent Training
Shelly has developed a "virtual training" module to get new agents oriented to the Agent Network System, National’s rating software, and the AS400 prior to an on-site visit."Working with the new agents to make sure all of their computer software and systems are in place immediately after their start date has made a big difference," states Shelly. "I feel that we are really delivering a personalized training program for our newest family members, and our follow-up on-site visit is far more effective."
