Broadview, IL November 25, 2015 – National Van Lines, Inc. is excited to announce the collaboration with Move For Hunger, a non-profit organization that partners with the relocation industry to reduce food waste and fight hunger.
Move For Hunger teams up with relocation companies across the country to pick up the unwanted, non-perishable food items from those who are moving and delivers it to their local food banks. Hunger is a HUGE problem everywhere in the United States. In a country known for its wealth and prosperity, every day 1 in 6 Americans faces hunger. The face of hunger has changed. No longer is it just the homeless man on the street reaching out for a helping hand, but every day millions of people are struggling to feed their families.
** 40% of food is thrown out in the US every year, or about $165 billion worth. All of this uneaten food could feed 25 million Americans.
National Van Line agents will now have the opportunity to become a member of the Move for Hunger by completing an application process and making a one-time, non-refundable, tax-deductible membership fee. This donation will help Move For Hunger continue its hunger relief efforts.
