We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sr. RPG Programmer Analyst to support our IBM iSeries AS400. An ability to work with potentially undocumented code is a must. This position will mainly focus on the maintenance of existing code and integrated additions within existing code. Individuals with good communication skills, attention to detail, and a high recollection capacity will excel in our environment.
Responsibilities
- Experience in developing interactive, batch and module programs.
- Ability to write program documentation and descriptions for users to comprehend the usage of applications, or to assist other programmers with future maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail orientated.
- Experience working in Microsoft Office products.
- Work within the moving and/or transportation industry, a plus but not a requirement.
- Strong communication skills.
- Support internal helpdesk.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- In-office presence is required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an iSeries Programmer Analyst.
- Experience with IBM power technologies and AS400 environments, a must.
- Knowledge and understanding of legacy code written in RPG, RPG II, RPG III is a must. Also requires an ability to work with flat files. 5+ years’ experience, preferred.
- Ability to develop, test, debug and modify programs in RPGLE/ILE RPG, RPG FREE, CL/CLP/CLLE languages.
- SQLRPGLE, embedded SQL, DB2/SQL, STRSQL, preferred.
- Knowledge of DDS, SEU, SDA, PDM, subfiles, data structures.
- Experience in developing interactive, batch and module programs on Series.
- Experience with ICS Formsprint, Move Star/Easy DPS, KeyesMail Third Party Software are a plus.
- EDI mapping and configuring are a plus.
- iSeries Administration skills are a plus.
- Degree in Computer Science or related experience.
- Data conversions from and to IBM iSeries.
