Overall we were very satisfied. There was one disappointment. The two movers at the end in Plymouth, Massachusetts could not move a dresser into an upstairs bedroom due to limited space. The stairs hallway was absolutely too narrow. Days later I hired two other movers who suggested moving the dresser through an upstairs window, which they did successfully. I don't fault your movers. They were excellent, and moving the dresser through the window was dangerous.

Stephanie was informative, honest, and helpful throughout the move. It was a comfort knowing our cross-country move would not be transferred 2-3 times. It stayed with one driver and the same truck all the way from NJ to NV. Always choose a carrier! National Van Lines is a solid choice.

The loading and unloading was great, the initial setup was great - with a couple of days to go though no communication to verify the pickup was still scheduled and on time

I thought everything went very well. The driver Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and the best. The packers in Denver were good some could have been better. The guys in Arizona unpacking were good again some could have been better. All in all the move was very well done. The only reason I dropped one star off is because of the packers in both Denver and Arizona.

Good scheduling and pick up service. The final offloading service was OK but a bit unprofessional

Our belongings arrived a week late. Other than that, the fellows that unloaded were excellent.

Best value, but pickup/delivery communication could be better. Didn't call me the night before to give me a window - just showed up at my house in the morning when I wasn't there. Gave us a delivery date but then at last minute moved up the date a few days earlier when I wasn't going to be there. A couple broken lamps and broken monitor but otherwise everything delivered fine.

Everyone that I worked with was very nice and cared, starting with John, who did the quote, to John and Austin who did the final delivery. I was impressed with the work ethic of everyone and there was a nice atmosphere during the packing - until later in the day. Everyone had been working diligently and carefully. I was impressed with how John was working with some of the younger team members and helping them to do a better job. He was polite and kind to his team member while providing gu idance in a discreet manner. An older man came late in the morning/early afternoon (he did not introduce himself) and started giving everyone on the packing team a hard time for seemingly no real reason. The older man made a "snarky" remark in front of me to a younger team member about his work ethic. I felt the need to stick up for him and did say how hard he had been working all day. We had 3 very sentimental collectable items that had been brought to the attention of the team. One of them was damaged. I submitted a claim online on 7/1.This piece was wrapped and placed into a box with kitchen items such as glasses, can openers, salt and pepper shakers, mugs, etc. Not only was it in the same box, but it was under a fair number of items. This was not the only delicate collectable that was inappropriately packed. We were fortunate than nothing else was broken. Based on how it was packed, I'd say it was pure luck. The breakable packing was very odd. There were items that were supe r carefully wrapped and packed. Then there were items as described above. It was almost as if two different people did the work. As soon as we found the broken collectable we alerted the team. Due to the sentimentality of the item, I was very upset and on the verge of tears. Austin and John were very polite about the situation. I had expressed fear of continuing to unpack more glass due to anticipation of finding more sentimental items broken. Austin jumped right in and said that he would he lp me unpack the box. He was very kind and helpful getting me through that process. If I could erase the broken item and inappropriate breakable packing, I would say that the experience was great with good, caring people at a fair price. Unfortunately it overshadows the overall experience. Assuming that my claim will be handled fairly, I would recommend Garttmeyer Moving to others.

I had two separate delivery locations and the personnel who loaded the original truck kept the items separated. Seven days later, the items were all mixed up and the first delivery location was very chaotic. Other than that, your service was very good. The original personnel did an outstanding job.

They were quick and efficient

Overall the moving experience was better than expected. The initial contact and estimate interaction was positive and helpful. The cost was less than other providers. However, on moving day all of our stuff didnt fit in the truck. We ended up waiting another month to receive the overflow. The drivers were great as were the helpers who loaded and unloaded the truck. A few items arrived broken and some seem to be missing. While we hope to never have to move in the future, we would likely choose Na tional Vanlines again if we did.

On the loading side, the movers seemed to skim the whole house for the entirety of their stay. So, it was hard to tell what if anything was done before it was all done. This complicated unloading. Also, for the few items they packed for consolidation purposes, they did not label or ask me about the final destination for labeling. I know that the experts will probably say that loading by room is inefficient, but it would make unloading easier. Since we had storage and home delivery, figuri ng out what was destined for each location was difficult. As it stands, there are a few items I cannot get to and was never asked about during the unloading at storage. Stupid things like my grill - why would I leave that in storage. I don't know if we have all of our clothes here at the house. It was not packed so should have been clear what it was. Not your fault, but the storage facility has venting at the top of each room large enough for a child or small adult to fit through as well as my guitars, which were in some cases stacked on top of everything and in plain sight of anyone peeking in for some window shopping. I am trying to be constructive here, which is why I didn't say "it was fine" or nothing at all.

The move went very smoothly. Everything was picked up and delivered on schedule. Items were generally handled with care and only a couple of items had some damage. One chest of drawers received a small gouge in a drawer front. Another couple of boxes we packed were dropped, but as far as we can tell the contents were not damaged. However, the driver evidently didn't turn in the final load weight and I ended up being charged based on the preload estimate about $500 more than I should have. I haven't yet heard anything about having that overcharge returned.

National Van Lines did a superb job moving my mom's belongings from a rural town in northern New York to Virginia. The mover, Jerry, was wonderful, an expert who packed and moved everything with care and stayed in touch throughout the move. I picked NVL after extensive research because it did a virtual evaluation of items to be moved, provided a binding estimate and did not require any payment until the van arrived at its destination. The only issue was the communication about the shuttle charge . In my initial conversation with the company I was told there was no charge for the shuttle and I did not notice the charge was on the estimate until after I signed it. Apparently there is no shuttle charge for delivery (we did not need a shuttle then anyway) but there is an "origin shuttle charge" at pickup. However, a rep did not explain this initially or when I questioned the charge. Everything else was perfect and I would highly recommend NVL.

Pleased overall with the experience. It would have helped me with tracking to check off each item as it came off the truck. I have learned to do that next time. I would use them again.
