This esteemed recognition underscores Taniya’s exceptional academic prowess, community engagement, and unwavering commitment to her future aspirations.

As a Naperville Central High School senior, Taniya has consistently demonstrated excellence in academics and extracurricular pursuits. Fueled by her passion for technology and a drive for academic excellence, she has chosen to pursue a major in Computer Science at the esteemed University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, where she is poised to embark on her academic journey in the fall of 2024.

Beyond her academic achievements, Taniya actively participates in various extracurricular activities, including showcasing her talent and leadership skills on the tennis court. Her dedication to sports reflects qualities of discipline, teamwork, and determination.
The Illinois Movers and Warehousemen’s Association Doug Schneider Scholarship is a testament to Taniya’s relentless dedication, hard work, and promising potential for a bright future. This scholarship acknowledges her exceptional academic accomplishments and recognizes her ability to make meaningful contributions to her community and beyond.

In her video acceptance speech, featured at the IMAWA conference this week, Taniya expressed her gratitude, stating, “I am truly grateful to IMAWA for offering this scholarship […] and I would also like to thank National Van Lines, especially Angela Beusse, for forwarding the scholarship information to us.”

Taniya’s success is a reflection not only of her individual achievements but also of the unwavering support and guidance she has received from her family, friends, teachers, and mentors.

The scholarship’s namesake, Doug Schneider, was a respected figure in the moving industry and a pillar of the community. A devoted family man, Doug served in the Iowa National Guard and was united in marriage to Becky Smith on April 14, 1979, in Davenport, IA. He presided over Bill’s Moving & Storage, Inc. in Rock Island, a company started by his father in 1946. Doug was deeply involved in his community, being a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and serving on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Movers & Warehousemen’s
Association. He founded their scholarship fund, leaving behind a legacy of support and opportunity for future generations.
