I was surprised that only two men showed up to load and deliver our furniture and belongings to our new home in Dunwoody Ga. They did work very hard to load the truck and delivered the belongings 2 days later in the afternoon. I was very surprised that the 2 men were able to handle some of the heavy and big pieces we had. My only complaint would be that we were told it was ok to leave contents in furniture drawers. I saw several pieces carried in various sideways or even upside down. So when I opened drawers the contents were a mess. Also some items were left at our house in Florida which fortunately I was able to get my realtor to retrieve and send to us in Ga. So even though the guys worked very hard - I would give the experience a B.
Scheduling the move was easy. There was miscommunication on the date of pick up and the date of drop off compared to my contract dates. I learned that I should have been receiving daily updates from the sales person, which I did not get. Mark was accommodating with the mix ups and I appreciate that. John was an incredible lead at pick up and drop off. His attention to detail was great. He was organized and friendly. Overall, this big move was a good experience. Thank you.
Overall a great move with National, The third party vendor Ceceros was not the best to work with nor did they have a true feeling of care like the team who delivered my furniture. The team who delivered my furniture was awesome! The asked me where everything needed to go and even helped me look for a few urgent things! hats off to the NVL team! Sue in the office was also great and comforting to work with!
The movers were friendly, efficient and detailed oriented when it came to packing and uploading. My only feedback for a better experience would be on communication. I understand weather can delay deliveries; however, no reached out to me to advised of my original delivery date will be delayed. I had to reach out to someone myself as it also impacted the contractors who would be there to mount the TV and my extension needed for my temporary accommodations. The movers were quick and they packed ev erything well. Minor items were damaged but overall experience was good.
I can say this: Our stuff made it to the destination on time and on budget. However, there were many things we asked to be packed that did not get packed and were left behind for us to transport ourselves, particularly artwork and lamps. Further, much of the furniture was damaged, particularly our bedroom furniture. There were also some lost parts for reassembling some of the furniture. The movers themselves were wonderful on both ends of our journey.
The negative - We were told that the team would pack up our belongings on one day and pack the truck the next. When they arrived, they wanted to pack and load the same day. I called our coordinator and he straightened things out. After our things were delivered, we discovered that some of the boxes that were marked with a description of the contents didnt really contain those items.
The positive - Dennis Leash, our coordinator, was excellent. From the initial walkthrough and bid, to fixing the situation with the movers, to the final payment. We couldnt have asked for better. The movers themselves were very professional and friendly.
Crystal Merritweather was very reassuring and friendly and she was the reason I chose National.
Aaron Bacon felt like the opposite.
Arthur Zmuda was very helpful and even helped package some things that I should have wrapped better myself. All of my stuff arrived safe and on time and he was instrumental in that.
Everything about the move was very good, except the delivery date. Unfortunately, the driver had to be admitted to the hospital during the delivery, and the delivery was delayed two days. While I understand there was no fault to be assigned to the driver, the delay cost me an additional $400 of hotel expenses.
