Migration Trends on the West Coast, According the Domestic Migration Report by National Van Lines
Broadview, IL March 21, 2022— National Van Lines Domestic Migration Report reveals people are moving to the western United States in huge numbers.
According to the Domestic Migration Report, released on Feb. 15, the West showed the second-highest population growth between 2010 and 2021—up 6.7 million from 2010, just behind the South’s increase of 12.6 million.
The report also shows that the fastest growing states are located in the west. Idaho’s population increased 21.2% between 2010 and 2021, and the populations of Idaho, Utah and Montana had the largest amount of growth in the nation from 2020-2021.
The Domestic Migration Report also includes data on moving intent. In the West, Oregon and Arizona are among the top 10 states with the most significant increase in individual views from the National Van Lines website from 2019 to 2020. This data indicates that people coming from those states are exploring the possibility of a move.
