Customer Testimonials

The move overall was timely and efficient although there was some damage to a few items and the loss of a floor lamp which we will note on our claims report.

Wrapped everything very well but lacked specific info on item/room. Did not reassemble all unassembled items at delivery.

The men whom we met all did a great job packing and protecting our furniture and boxed possessions. Unloading at our new home appeared to go well too. Afterward, we discovered significant damage which should have been easily avoided. 1) one of our two leather desk chairs had a metal and wood trimmed leg bent nearly 90. We could not bend it back. The wood was broken too. 2) our white living room sofa must have been placed on its side and dragged. The corners are dirty and one foot is badly scraped. 3) our sofa bed was also set on its side. The faux suede fabric was badly soiled and torn. 4) one of two end tables was smashed! and 5) there are dings and marks on many wood pieces. We are glad that you have a claims person coming to see the damage on June 3.

The Local NY/CT based Coordinator was great in calling to schedule the delivery, coordinate building access, etc. The day of the move, the movers did contact us to advise their arrival, and observed the rules of the building access/common areas. They were polite, and responsive to requests when directed to take care of items being carried in, or when asked to put in a particular location. Two furniture pieces did suffer minor damage at some point between departing storage in Chicago and b eing delivered (i noticed after they left). One opportunity for improvement would be as it related to moving large items into rooms where access is limited. There were a few times I needed to slow them down as they were taking furniture large pieces upstairs, and nearly hit the hallway walls, and overhead chandeliers. Also as moving sofa pieces (around a corner through a door, where the walls have delicate hand-carved plaster framing around a decorative built in mirror) a couple of tim es they nearly hit/damaged plaster detailing on walls. I was watching and discussing with them as they went, and they did slow down/stop when asked. The crew supervisor was helpful in that manner when i shared concerns, and he provided good oversight at that point. , Once I brought up my concerns, they were very accommodating. Also, as our renovation contractor was on site, and stepped in to suggest removing doors/hardware to increase access to the room, and the walls were not damaged. Overall, a very good job, friendly crew that seemed motivated to please, but also opportunity to be a little more careful and assess surroundings to avoid potential damage. Would use your company again.

Packers were very good and diligent about wrapping up everything carefully. Transport was delayed and missed the window provided but all in all it was a good move. The weight was less than the estimate and the costs were reduced. Car shipment was quicker than expected and we were able to take delivery in Dallas vs the originally planned Austin. I have moved often and appreciate the professionalism of the national team

Overall, the experience was smooth and efficient. There was only one minor damage and a missing item valued at less than $100, for which I was reimbursed after filing a claim. There were no other issues. The movers were courteous, professional, and right on time. All the large furniture was padded, and walls were covered to prevent scratches. Their bid was competitive, and best of all, no prepayment was required, unlike most other companies. All I needed to pay was before or on the delivery da te. The only thing I wish the salesperson had told me about were the additional charges for changing the delivery date, as I had thought it included free 30 days of storage. They picked up my loads on 01/25/2024, and the original delivery date was set for on or after 2/15/2024, with a 7-day delivery window. Then on 2/1/2024, the seller requested an additional 2 days to move out. So, I asked to shift the delivery window to start on 02/17/2024 right away. I thought that was at least a 2-week no tice for the change. However, I was still charged $100 per day, totaling $200 in additional charges. I understand there might have been scheduling issues during the peak moving season, but since winter is a slow season, $100 per day seems excessive. It should have been disclosed in the contract, instead of my assumption that it would be covered in the free 30 days of storage. Had I known about it, I would have requested the seller to pay for the fee when I agreed to the change. Despite these issues, I am satisfied with my overall experience with National Van Line and will likely use the company again for my long-distance moves.

Positive: Driver and crew were great and everything that was loaded arrived on time and was delivered with no damage. Negative: Very poor communication between local office/sales and others. Notably, not everything that we wanted moved was loaded as the driver was not informed that we had requested packing services and there was just not time for us to pack everything ourselves at the last minute. The local office should have stepped up and provided materials and labor. The cost of pac king was removed from final bill BUT that does not fix the problem that some of our items are still in the origin city.

The movers were friendly, fast and showed up on time to leave and arrive. We had a few items broken (a corner of of our bed and off of a coffee table) , a fridge with small dents, and a couple small items missing ( bed remote and recliner motor to the loveseat) but overall we were satisfied given the very large amount of items from an 1850 square foot 2 story home and really full garage. The price seemed really high but I had references from our realtor so there was that. Jack the estimator was nice and our price matched our estimate so we didnt have to deal with the bait and switch we had heard about from other companies.

Movers were great. I only had a couple small broken items that were boxed. These movers were very honest and trustworthy.
